Subscriber First Name, as we look back over the past year in Kapsowar, we are filled with gratitude.

The generosity of our supporters—whether through monthly giving, annual contributions, or one-time gifts—have been a powerful force for good. Besides providing for our family’s personal expenses to be in Kenya, your donations help us meet essential needs for vulnerable patients at the hospital and in the community, reflecting the healing presence of Jesus in our broken world.

We’re excited to share some of the incredible ways your gifts have truly made a difference in lives this year:

You provided for 12 patients to get a CT scan - $115 a patient.

Patients must travel an hour and a half to town to access a CT scan which is an overwhelming expense for most families. Your support enables Jack to provide timely referrals, ensuring patients can cover the cost to travel to town and pay for the scans they need for accurate diagnosis.

You covered over $1,200 in patient bills and tests.

Many families arrive at the hospital in desperate need but without Kenyan health insurance, leaving them with overwhelming debt. Your support helps cover their medical bills, providing critical care to the most in need.

You provided over $4,050 in medication.

There are many basic medications that the hospital is unable to acquire due to their expense. Your funds help Jack keep these in stock so that he can use them for patients when necessary. For example, avastin helps prevent premature babies from going blind, and surfactant is a critical drug to help premature babies breathe better.

You provided over $8,700 in equipment for the hospital.

Several tools help Jack do his job better, and one of the most critical is pediatric monitors. These devices continuously track the health of newborns, providing vital updates. Thanks to your support, some of the machines we were able to purchase were additional monitors, enabling us to keep a closer eye on more critically ill babies instead of being limited to just a few.

You sent Daisy to school for only $250.

Daisy arrived at the hospital in need of emergency surgery but without insurance. After covering her medical bill and discharging her, we decided to do a home visit where we discovered she had dropped out of school due to unpaid fees and the stigma surrounding her ectopic pregnancy. With your support, we cleared her fees and secured her a spot at a new school, offering her a fresh start.

You fed families in need.

During home visits in the community, we met a family in desperate need. The daughters had serious untreated medical conditions, and the mother had no food to feed her children. Thanks to your support, we provided seed and fertilizer to help them grow maize—a vital step toward self-sufficiency. We also arranged life-changing surgery for one daughter with a visiting specialist at Kijabe Mission Hospital and are currently awaiting ophthalmology results for her sister.
