Every December Spotify (a popular music app) rolls out their “Year Wrapped”—a recap of all the songs you listened to, your top genres, even the “age” of your music taste.

My own wrap is a little compromised thanks to the hours of Cocomelon songs, lullabies and white noise I play for my kids. (Parents of toddlers, I know you get me right now!)

I share that because today you get a version of our “Year Wrapped”—a summary of everything you made possible in Kapsowar this year.

When you give to us through Serge, you’re not just supporting a line item on a budget. You’re making it possible for our family to actually be in Kapsowar—covering things like health insurance, rent, work permits and visa fees, home repairs, educational materials for our kids, and even our monthly salary. You help us stay present here, rooted in this community we love.

But your giving also goes far beyond sustaining us. Jack and I are constantly using those same funds to do the work—from running programs to purchasing medications, from supporting vulnerable patients to meeting urgent needs that show up at our door without warning. Truly, without your partnership, so much of what happens here simply wouldn’t happen.

So here it is—2025 Wrapped: a look at the real, on-the-ground ways your generosity made a difference in Kapsowar. And this is just the hospital snapshot—there are so many other needs met for our family and others because of you.

And because one of the things we both love—and don’t love—is the meticulous accounting we have to keep, every cent is recorded. Since we already have the spreadsheet, we thought it might be fun to share a super detailed breakdown for those of you who enjoy seeing exactly where each dollar went! (You’ll be amazed just how far $37,000 can go in Kenya!)

When we add it all up, even if each line item touched only one life—and many reached far more—you directly helped 247 people this year. That’s incredible. And that doesn’t even include the 7,500 patients Jack cared for this year. That’s hope that keeps rippling outward.

Here are just a few snapshots I happened to have on hand - there’s so much more I never captured, but these give just a glimpse of the lives you touched this year.
